THE PROBLEM
For many deaf learners, learning to read presents unique challenges. Limited access to language-rich environments and a shortage of literacy-focused support can make it difficult for students to develop strong reading, spelling, vocabulary, and word identification skills. Yet literacy is one of the most important foundations for academic success, confidence, and future opportunities.
